Excavation

Excavation is the process of removing earth, rock or other materials from a site in order to form a cavity or open a hole or trench in the ground. In maritime context, excavation is often used to create channels, harbors, and docks. Excavation can be done by hand or with heavy machinery such as dredgers, excavators, and backhoes. The process of excavation involves planning, surveying, and marking the area to be excavated, followed by the actual digging and removal of materials. Excavation is an important process in maritime construction and maintenance, as it allows for the creation and maintenance of safe and navigable waterways.
