EXCOM stands for Executive Committee of the National Security Council. It is a group of senior officials from various government agencies responsible for advising and assisting the President in matters related to national security and foreign policy. In the maritime context, EXCOM plays a crucial role in decision-making related to naval operations, maritime security, and international relations. The committee provides strategic guidance and direction to the Department of Defense and other agencies involved in maritime affairs.
