Fair Weather

Fair weather refers to a period of calm, sunny, and pleasant weather conditions with little to no wind, low humidity, and no precipitation. In maritime context, fair weather is an ideal condition for sailing and navigation as it provides clear visibility, calm seas, and stable atmospheric pressure. Fair weather is often associated with high-pressure systems, which are characterized by descending air currents that suppress cloud formation and precipitation. However, sudden changes in weather patterns can occur, and fair weather can quickly turn into foul weather, with strong winds, heavy rain, and rough seas. Therefore, sailors and mariners must always be prepared for any weather conditions and keep a close eye on weather forecasts and changes in atmospheric pressure.
