Fire Prevention

Fire prevention refers to the measures taken to prevent the outbreak of fire and to reduce its impact in case of an emergency. In the maritime context, fire prevention is of utmost importance due to the high risk of fire on ships and the limited means of escape. Fire prevention measures include regular maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, proper storage and handling of flammable materials, installation of fire detection and suppression systems, and training of crew members in fire safety procedures. In case of a fire, immediate action must be taken to contain the fire and evacuate the ship safely.
