Freak Waves
Freak waves, also known as rogue waves, are abnormally large and spontaneous ocean waves that occur in open water, often without warning. These waves can reach heights of up to 30 meters and can cause significant damage to ships and offshore structures. Freak waves are believed to be caused by a combination of factors, including the interaction of different wave systems, wind speed and direction, and ocean currents. They are a rare but serious threat to maritime safety, and efforts are being made to better understand and predict their occurrence.
