Galileo

Galileo was a navigation system developed by the European Union (EU) and the European Space Agency (ESA) to provide global positioning services. It is similar to the Global Positioning System (GPS) of the United States, but with a higher degree of accuracy and reliability. Galileo consists of a constellation of satellites in medium Earth orbit and a network of ground control stations and user receivers. It provides positioning, navigation, and timing services to users worldwide, including maritime users. Galileo is interoperable with GPS and other global navigation satellite systems (GNSS), which enhances the availability, accuracy, and integrity of positioning and timing information.
