Galileo Positioning System

Galileo is a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) developed by the European Union (EU) and European Space Agency (ESA). It provides highly accurate positioning and timing information to users worldwide. The system consists of a constellation of satellites in medium Earth orbit, ground control centers, and user receivers. Galileo offers several advantages over other GNSS systems, including increased accuracy, improved availability, and enhanced security. It is designed to be interoperable with other GNSS systems, such as GPS and GLONASS, to provide users with seamless global coverage. Galileo has a wide range of applications in maritime navigation, including vessel tracking, search and rescue operations, and precision docking.
