Gas Carrier

A gas carrier is a specialized type of ship designed to transport liquefied gases in bulk. These gases can include liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and chemical gases. Gas carriers are equipped with specialized cargo containment systems that can withstand the extreme low temperatures and high pressures of liquefied gases. They also have advanced safety systems to prevent leaks or spills, such as gas detection systems, emergency shutdown systems, and fire suppression systems. Gas carriers can be divided into two main types: fully pressurized ships and fully refrigerated ships. Fully pressurized ships transport gases that can be carried at ambient temperatures and moderate pressures, while fully refrigerated ships transport gases that must be kept at very low temperatures and high pressures.
