Heaving Line

A heaving line is a lightweight rope that is used to transfer a heavier line from one location to another. It is typically thrown by hand and used to establish a connection between two vessels, or between a vessel and a dock. The heaving line is often equipped with a weighted end to help it travel further and with greater accuracy. It is an essential tool for maritime operations, as it allows for the safe and efficient transfer of heavier lines without the need for direct physical contact. In emergency situations, a heaving line can also be used to rescue a person who has fallen overboard.
