IMDG Code

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is a set of guidelines and regulations for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by sea. It provides detailed instructions for the classification, packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation of dangerous goods shipments. The IMDG Code is mandatory under international law for all shipments of dangerous goods by sea, and is enforced by national authorities and port state control. Compliance with the IMDG Code is essential for the safety of crew, vessel, and cargo, as well as for the protection of the marine environment.
