International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code

The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code is a set of guidelines and regulations developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the safe transportation of dangerous goods by sea. The code provides detailed instructions for the classification, packaging, marking, labeling, and documentation of dangerous goods shipments, as well as the stowage and segregation of such goods on board ships. It also includes emergency response procedures and requirements for training and certification of personnel involved in the transport of dangerous goods. The IMDG Code is mandatory under international law for all shipments of dangerous goods by sea.
