Landing Strake
A landing strake is a longitudinal strip of wood or metal that is attached to the bottom of a boat's hull to protect it during beaching or landing. It is typically located at the bow or stern of the vessel and runs parallel to the waterline. The landing strake helps to distribute the weight of the boat evenly and prevent damage to the hull when the boat is grounded. It also provides additional stability during beaching and can help to prevent the boat from tipping over. Landing strakes are commonly found on small boats and watercraft used for recreational purposes, as well as on larger vessels such as military landing craft and amphibious assault ships.
