Lifeboat

A lifeboat is a small, rigid or inflatable boat carried on board a ship, which is used to evacuate the ship's crew or passengers in case of an emergency, such as a fire, sinking, or grounding. Lifeboats are designed to be self-righting and to remain afloat even if they are filled with water. They are equipped with oars or a motor, and may also have a sail. Lifeboats are an essential safety feature on all seagoing vessels, and are subject to strict regulations and inspections to ensure that they are always ready for use in an emergency.
