Lookout Point


Lookout Point is a designated location on a vessel where a crew member is stationed to maintain a continuous watch for any potential hazards or dangers in the surrounding waters. The lookout is responsible for visually scanning the horizon and reporting any sightings of other vessels, navigational hazards, or any other potential dangers to the bridge. The lookout must be alert and vigilant at all times, and must be able to communicate effectively with the bridge team. Lookout Point is a critical component of safe navigation and is required by international maritime regulations.
