MEPC
MEPC stands for the Marine Environment Protection Committee, which is a subsidiary body of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The MEPC is responsible for developing and maintaining measures to prevent pollution from ships and to promote the safety of navigation in the marine environment. This includes the development of regulations and guidelines related to the prevention of air pollution, oil pollution, and other forms of marine pollution. The MEPC also works to promote the use of clean technologies and alternative fuels in the shipping industry, and to ensure that ships are operated in an environmentally responsible manner. The MEPC meets regularly to review and update its work, and to consider new measures to protect the marine environment.
