NAABSA
Not Always Afloat But Safe Aground (NAABSA) is a term used in the maritime industry to describe a situation where a vessel is not always afloat but is secured to the seabed in a safe manner. This can occur when a vessel needs to undergo repairs or maintenance that cannot be performed while the vessel is in the water. In such cases, the vessel is moved to a shallow area where it can be safely grounded. The vessel is then secured to the seabed using anchors, chains, or other means to prevent it from moving. During this time, the vessel may be partially or completely out of the water. NAABSA operations require careful planning and execution to ensure the safety of the vessel, crew, and environment.
