Navigational Chart

A navigational chart is a graphic representation of a maritime area and adjacent coastal regions. It shows water depths, shoreline configurations, navigational aids, and other features that assist in safe navigation. Navigational charts are essential tools for mariners to plan and execute voyages, avoid hazards, and comply with regulations. They are produced by national hydrographic offices and private companies using data from surveys, satellite imagery, and other sources. Navigational charts are updated regularly to reflect changes in the environment and to ensure accuracy. Mariners must have the appropriate navigational charts on board and use them in conjunction with other navigational aids to ensure safe and efficient navigation.
