Navigator

A navigator is a person responsible for planning and directing the course of a ship or aircraft. In the maritime context, a navigator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient passage of a vessel from one point to another. This involves using a variety of tools and techniques, such as charts, compasses, and GPS systems, to determine the ship's position and plot a course that avoids hazards and takes into account factors such as weather and currents. The navigator also communicates with other members of the crew, such as the captain and helmsman, to ensure that the ship is on course and that any necessary adjustments are made. In addition, the navigator is responsible for maintaining accurate records of the ship's position and course.
