Pay Off

Pay Off is a term used in maritime context to describe the process of releasing a vessel from a berth or a quay. This process involves the payment of all dues and charges to the port authorities, including pilotage, towage, mooring, and any other services rendered to the vessel while it was in port. Once all the dues are paid, the vessel is free to leave the port and continue its voyage. The Pay Off process is usually carried out by the ship's agent, who is responsible for settling all the financial obligations of the vessel while it is in port.
