Personal Flotation Devices

Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are devices designed to keep a person afloat in water. They are commonly used in maritime activities to prevent drowning in case of an emergency. PFDs come in different types, sizes, and shapes, and are made of various materials such as foam, inflatable chambers, or a combination of both. They are classified into five categories based on their buoyancy and intended use. PFDs are required by law to be carried on board vessels and worn by crew and passengers in certain situations. It is important to choose the right type and size of PFD for the intended activity and to ensure that it is properly maintained and inspected.
