Port Authority
A Port Authority is a government or quasi-governmental public authority that owns, operates, and manages ports and other maritime infrastructure. The primary responsibility of a Port Authority is to ensure the safe, efficient, and secure movement of ships and cargo in and out of the port. This includes managing the maintenance and development of port facilities, regulating vessel traffic, providing pilotage services, and enforcing safety and environmental regulations. Port Authorities also play a key role in promoting economic development and trade by attracting new business and investment to the port and surrounding region.
