Radio Wave

A radio wave is an electromagnetic wave that travels through the air or vacuum and carries information such as sound, images, or data. In the maritime context, radio waves are used for communication between ships and shore stations, as well as between ships themselves. Radio waves are also used for navigation purposes, such as in the Global Positioning System (GPS). The frequency of radio waves used in maritime communication is regulated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to avoid interference and ensure efficient use of the radio spectrum.
