Rudder Stop

A rudder stop is a device used to limit the movement of the rudder on a ship or boat. It is typically made of metal or hard rubber and is installed on the rudder or the hull of the vessel. The purpose of a rudder stop is to prevent the rudder from moving too far in either direction, which can cause damage to the rudder or the steering gear. Rudder stops are particularly important in rough seas or when maneuvering in tight spaces, where the rudder may be subjected to excessive forces. They are also used to prevent the rudder from hitting the propeller or the hull of the vessel.
