Seafarer Health

Seafarer Health refers to the physical, mental, and social well-being of individuals who work at sea. Due to the unique nature of their work environment, seafarers are exposed to a range of health risks, including but not limited to, infectious diseases, mental health issues, physical injuries, and exposure to hazardous substances. Seafarer Health also encompasses the provision of medical care and support services to seafarers while they are at sea, as well as access to healthcare services when they are on shore leave. The International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have developed guidelines and recommendations to promote and protect the health of seafarers.
