Shaft Alley

Shaft Alley is a narrow passage located at the stern of a ship, which houses the propeller shaft, bearings, and other related machinery. It is an important area of the ship as it allows for maintenance and repair of the propulsion system. The space is typically lined with soundproofing material to reduce noise and vibration. Shaft Alley is also a critical area for safety as it contains rotating machinery and high voltage electrical equipment. Access to Shaft Alley is restricted to authorized personnel only, and proper safety procedures must be followed when entering the space.
