Sharks
Sharks are a group of fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. They are found in all seas and are common to depths of 2,000 metres (6,600 ft). Some species, such as the great white shark, tiger shark, and bull shark, are known to attack humans, and are therefore considered dangerous. However, shark attacks on humans are rare, and many species of sharks are threatened with extinction due to overfishing and habitat destruction.
