Shelter Deck

Shelter Deck is a deck above the main deck of a ship that provides an additional level of protection to the cargo and crew from the elements. It is usually located at the bow and/or stern of the ship and is enclosed by bulwarks or other structures. The shelter deck is designed to provide a safe and secure area for cargo that is not suitable for exposure to the weather, such as vehicles, machinery, or other sensitive equipment. It also provides additional accommodation for crew members and passengers. The shelter deck is an important feature of many modern cargo ships and is essential for the safe and efficient transportation of goods.
