Ship Registration

Ship registration is the process by which a ship is documented and given the nationality of the country to which it has been documented. It is a legal requirement for a ship to be registered in a country, which confers upon the ship the benefits and protections of that country's laws. The registration process involves providing information about the ship, its ownership, and its intended use. Once registered, the ship is issued a registration certificate and is entitled to fly the flag of the country of registration. Ship registration also determines the ship's eligibility to engage in international trade and the rights and obligations of the ship's owners and crew.
