Shore Power

Shore power refers to the electricity supply provided to a ship while it is docked at a port. This allows the ship to shut down its engines and reduce emissions, noise, and fuel consumption. Shore power typically operates at a voltage of 440 volts AC and a frequency of 60 hertz, and is supplied through a cable connected to the ship's electrical system. Shore power is becoming increasingly important as ports and shipping companies seek to reduce their environmental impact and comply with regulations on emissions and air quality.
