Structural Integrity

Structural Integrity refers to the ability of a ship's structure to withstand the stresses and loads imposed on it during normal operations and extreme conditions, such as heavy weather or collisions. It encompasses the design, construction, maintenance, and repair of a vessel's hull, decks, bulkheads, and other structural components. Structural integrity is critical to the safety of a ship and its crew, as any failure or compromise in the structure can lead to catastrophic consequences, including sinking or capsizing. Therefore, regular inspections and testing are necessary to ensure that a ship's structural integrity is maintained throughout its service life.
