Thrust Block

A thrust block is a heavy steel or concrete structure used to resist the forward thrust of a ship's propeller. It is usually located at the aft end of the ship's engine room and is designed to transfer the propeller's thrust to the ship's hull. The thrust block is an important component of a ship's propulsion system and must be designed to withstand the high forces generated by the propeller. It is typically made of high-strength steel and is bolted to the ship's hull. The thrust block is also used to support the propeller shaft and to prevent it from bending or breaking under the high loads generated by the propeller.
