Tonnes Per Centimetre Immersion (TPC)

Tonnes Per Centimetre Immersion (TPC) is a measure of the buoyancy of a ship. It is the weight of cargo that a ship can carry per centimetre immersion in water. TPC is calculated by dividing the total weight of cargo a ship can carry by the difference between the weight of the ship and its weight when fully immersed in water. TPC is an important factor in determining the maximum load a ship can carry and is used to calculate the draft of a ship. It is also used to determine the amount of cargo a ship can carry safely in different water conditions.
