Tropic Of Capricorn

The Tropic of Capricorn is an imaginary line located at 23.5 degrees south of the equator. It is one of the five major circles of latitude that mark maps of the Earth. The Tropic of Capricorn is significant in maritime context as it marks the southernmost point where the sun can be seen directly overhead at noon. This has important implications for navigation and the determination of latitude. The Tropic of Capricorn also marks the boundary of the tropics, which are characterized by warm temperatures and distinct seasonal changes. In addition, the Tropic of Capricorn is an important reference point for weather patterns and ocean currents in the southern hemisphere.
