Worms
Worms are marine organisms that belong to the phylum Annelida. They are commonly found in the sediment at the bottom of the ocean and play an important role in the marine ecosystem. Some species of worms are used as bait for fishing, while others are considered pests that damage ships and underwater structures. The presence of worms can weaken the structural integrity of wooden ships and cause leaks. To prevent this, ships are often coated with anti-fouling paint that contains toxic chemicals to deter worms and other marine organisms from attaching to the hull. In addition, regular maintenance and cleaning of the hull can help to prevent worm infestations.
