Yawl

A yawl is a two-masted sailing vessel with the mizzen mast stepped abaft (behind) the rudder post. The mainmast is usually taller and located forward of the mizzen mast. Yawls were originally developed as fishing boats, but they were also used as auxiliary vessels for larger ships. They are known for their ability to sail close to the wind and their maneuverability in tight spaces. Yawls are often used for leisure sailing and racing due to their versatility and ease of handling.
