Accommodation Ladder

An accommodation ladder is a portable ladder that is hung over the side of a ship to provide a safe means of embarkation and disembarkation for personnel. It is typically used when a ship is anchored or moored and there is a need to transfer people between the ship and a pier, jetty, or another vessel. The ladder is designed to be adjustable in length and angle to accommodate different heights and angles of the ship's side. It is also equipped with handrails and non-slip treads to ensure the safety of those using it. The use of an accommodation ladder is regulated by international maritime safety standards to ensure that it is properly maintained and used in a safe manner.
