Aft Peak Tank

An aft peak tank is a compartment located at the stern of a ship, usually below the waterline, used for storing liquids such as fuel, water, or sewage. It is designed to collect any liquids that may leak or spill from other parts of the ship, preventing them from affecting the ship's stability. Aft peak tanks are also used to adjust the trim of the ship, which is the balance between the bow and stern. They are typically smaller than other tanks on the ship and are often used for ballast purposes.
