Anti-roll Tanks

Anti-roll tanks are specialized tanks installed on ships to reduce the rolling motion of the vessel caused by waves. These tanks are filled with water and are strategically placed on the port and starboard sides of the ship. When the ship rolls, the water in the tanks moves in the opposite direction, creating a counteracting force that reduces the rolling motion. Anti-roll tanks are particularly useful for ships that operate in rough seas or in areas with high wave activity, as they improve the stability of the vessel and reduce the risk of capsizing or damage to cargo. The size and number of anti-roll tanks required for a ship depend on various factors, including the size and weight of the vessel, the type of cargo being carried, and the expected wave conditions.
