Container Handling Equipment


Container Handling Equipment refers to the machinery and tools used for loading, unloading, stacking, and transporting containers in ports and container terminals. These equipment include container cranes, straddle carriers, reach stackers, forklifts, and terminal tractors. Container cranes are used to lift and move containers from ships to the terminal or vice versa. Straddle carriers are used to transport containers within the terminal and stack them in designated areas. Reach stackers are used to lift and move containers within the terminal and onto trucks or railcars. Forklifts are used for loading and unloading containers from trucks and railcars. Terminal tractors are used to move containers within the terminal and between the terminal and the gate.
