Control Surfaces

Control surfaces are movable parts of an aircraft or a ship that are used to control its movement and direction. In the maritime context, control surfaces are used to steer the ship and control its speed. The rudder is the primary control surface used to steer the ship. It is a flat, vertical plate that is attached to the stern of the ship and can be turned left or right to change the direction of the ship. Other control surfaces on a ship include the bow thruster, which is a propeller located at the bow of the ship that can be used to move the ship sideways, and the stabilizers, which are fins located on the sides of the ship that help to reduce rolling and improve stability.
