Drag Force

Drag force is a force that opposes the motion of an object through a fluid, such as air or water. In maritime context, drag force is an important factor that affects the speed and maneuverability of ships. The resistance of water to the motion of a ship is called hydrodynamic drag, which is influenced by the shape and size of the ship's hull, the speed of the ship, and the properties of the water. Drag force can be reduced by designing streamlined hulls, using coatings that reduce friction, and optimizing the propulsion system. However, drag force cannot be completely eliminated, and it is an important consideration in the design and operation of ships.
