Enhanced Fujita Scale

The Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF Scale) is a system used to rate the intensity of tornadoes based on the damage they cause. The scale ranges from EF0, indicating minor damage, to EF5, indicating catastrophic damage. The EF Scale takes into account the type of structures affected, such as homes, schools, and hospitals, as well as the degree of damage to those structures. The scale also considers the width and length of the tornado's path, as well as the estimated wind speeds. The EF Scale was developed in 2007 as an update to the original Fujita Scale, which was created in 1971.
