Fluke

In maritime context, a fluke refers to the pointed, triangular part of an anchor that digs into the seabed to provide grip and prevent the vessel from drifting. The fluke is designed to pivot on the shank of the anchor, allowing it to orient itself in the direction of the force applied by the chain or rope. The shape and size of the fluke can vary depending on the type and size of the anchor, as well as the seabed conditions. A fluke can also refer to a lucky or accidental occurrence, but this definition is not related to the maritime context.
