Fore Peak Tank

Fore Peak Tank is a compartment located at the forward end of a ship, below the main deck and above the bottom of the ship's hull. It is used to store liquids such as fresh water, fuel oil, ballast water, or sewage. The tank is designed to prevent the liquids from sloshing around during rough seas and to maintain the ship's stability. The size and shape of the fore peak tank vary depending on the type and size of the ship. In some cases, the fore peak tank may be used as a void space to improve the ship's buoyancy and trim.
