Frames
Frames are the structural components of a ship that provide support and shape to the vessel. They are typically made of wood or steel and run perpendicular to the keel. Frames are spaced at regular intervals along the length of the ship and are attached to the keel, the ship's backbone. They provide the necessary rigidity to the hull and distribute the stresses caused by the motion of the ship. Frames also serve as attachment points for the planking or skin of the ship.
