Freefall Lifeboat

A freefall lifeboat is a type of lifeboat used on ships and offshore installations. It is designed to be launched from a height and enter the water at a high speed, allowing it to clear the ship or platform quickly. The freefall lifeboat is equipped with a release mechanism that allows it to drop from its stowed position and enter the water in a controlled manner. Once in the water, the lifeboat can be maneuvered to safety. Freefall lifeboats are typically used in situations where a rapid evacuation is necessary, such as in the event of a fire or other emergency on board the ship or platform.
