Gas Free
Gas Free refers to the process of removing all hazardous gases from a confined space on a vessel, such as a tank or a compartment, to ensure a safe working environment for personnel. This process involves a series of tests and procedures to verify that the atmosphere inside the space is safe for entry and work. Gas Free certification is required before any hot work, such as welding or grinding, can be carried out in the space. The Gas Free certificate is issued by a qualified Gas Free Engineer or Gas Free Inspector, who is responsible for ensuring that all safety procedures have been followed and that the space is safe for entry.
