Incident

In maritime context, an incident refers to any event or occurrence that may cause or has caused damage to a vessel, its crew, cargo, or the environment. This includes but is not limited to collisions, groundings, fires, explosions, piracy attacks, and oil spills. Incidents can have serious consequences and may result in injuries, loss of life, environmental pollution, and financial losses. Therefore, it is important for ship operators to have effective incident management plans in place to prevent, mitigate, and respond to incidents. These plans should include procedures for reporting incidents, assessing risks, notifying relevant authorities, and implementing appropriate measures to minimize the impact of the incident.
