Manatee
Manatees are large, fully aquatic, mostly herbivorous marine mammals sometimes known as sea cows. They are found in shallow, slow-moving rivers, estuaries, saltwater bays, canals, and coastal areas, particularly where seagrass beds or freshwater vegetation flourish. Manatees are gentle and slow-moving animals. Most of their time is spent eating, resting, and traveling. They are an important part of the ecosystem, helping to maintain the balance of aquatic vegetation and keeping waterways clean. Manatees are also vulnerable to human activities such as boat strikes, habitat loss, and pollution.
