Maritime Rescue Coordination Center

A Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) is a designated facility responsible for coordinating maritime search and rescue (SAR) operations within a specified area. The MRCC is responsible for receiving distress alerts from ships and other sources, and for coordinating the response to those alerts. This includes determining the appropriate SAR assets to deploy, such as ships, aircraft, and rescue teams, and managing the overall SAR operation. The MRCC also maintains communication with the distressed vessel or person, providing advice and assistance as needed. The ultimate goal of the MRCC is to ensure the safety of life at sea.
